Teej Celebration @ KIPS

Teej festival is celebrated to welcome the arrival of the monsoon. Hence most of the popular Teej songs depict the imagery of monsoon and the month of Sawan. Many folk Teej songs also portray the longing of a woman to meet her lover. While enjoying their sway on swings bedecked with flowers women sing along with these Sawan and love songs and relish the joys of Teej Festival.

Punjabi Teej Songs

Sawan Aya Ni
Ral auo sahio ni,
Sabh tian khedan jaiye
Hun aya sawan ni
Pinghan piplin ja ke paiye
Pai ku ku kardi ni,
Sahio koel Hanju dolhe
Papiha wekho ni,
Bherha pee-pee kar ke bole.
Paye pailan pande ni,
Bagi moran shor machaya.
Arhio khil khil phaulan ne,
Sanu mahia yad kariya.
